Speaker submits response to SC on HoR dissolution

"President does not have the right to test the vote of confidence of the Prime Minister"

KATHMANDU: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has said that the President does not have the right to test the vote of confidence of the Prime Minister.

He made the claim while submitting a written reply to the Supreme Court Thursday in relation to a writ petition filed by 146 lawmakers against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

Stating that the actions and decisions taken by the President are unconstitutional, Speaker Sapkota has accused the President of being averse to abiding by and protecting the constitution.
