Flood causes cracks in East-West Highway in Rupandehi

Transportation blocked in the highway

BUTWAL: Traffic has been disrupted in Rupandehi section of the East-West Highway due to flooding induced by continuous rainfall that started since Monday.

According to sources, the diversion road near Charange on the Butwal-Devadaha road section has been washed away by the flood.

The road has been blocked since 12:30 pm today. Vehicles have been stranded on both sides of the road after the road was washed away.

During the expansion of the highway, a diversion road was built to ease transportation for the four-lane bridge  under-construction.
