Representatives of UML-affiliated organizations demand NC Bagmati lawmaker Vaidya’s arrest

KATHMANDU: Representatives of various people’s organizations and community organizations of the CPN-UML have demanded action against Bagmati Province Assembly (PA) member Narottam Vaidya for slinging life-threatening remarks at Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Representatives of 11 different organizations, handing over a memorandum to Home Minister Khagraj Adhikari Monday, demanded Vaidya’s immediate arrest, citing Vaidya’s remark was criminal in nature.

They accused the Nepali Congress (NC) of being all talk and no action regarding Vaidya’s controversial statement. “If the NC does not believe in violence and is for upholding parliamentary values and the dignity of the parliament, it must sack Vaidya pronto,” the memorandum read.
