UML leader Basnet demands action against Vaidya

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader Mahesh Basnet has demanded the government to take action against Nepali Congress (NC) Bagmati Provincial Assembly (PA) member Narottam Vaidya.

Talking to media persons virtually Saturday, Basnet demanded action against Vaidya for his ‘criminal’ statement in the PA meeting Friday.

He said that Vaidya’s statement could not be taken lightly, expressing suspicion if a conspiracy was being hatched in collusion with the NC against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

“The statement made by Vaidya in the parliament might not be just an outrage. We ought to be aware that the statement reeks of a conspiracy to fulfill the desire for power,” he said.

Stating that some elements are taking advantage of the internal strife within the UML to hatch a conspiracy to assassinate the Prime Minister for coming to power, he said that investigation would to launched against conspirators.
