UML leader Rawal delighted at SC decision to revoke UML’s 10th Gen Con Organizing Committee

KATHMANDU: ‘Expelled’ CPN-UML Bhim Rawal has been delighted after Supreme Court (SC) reinstated four provincial lawmakers dismissed for crossing the floor in Karnali Pradesh.

Posting a status, leader Rawal congratulated the four lawmakers after the SC on Thursday reinstated them.

The SC also revoked the UML’s 10th General Convention Organizing Committee formed by Prime Minister.

“The SC on Thursday revoked the 10th General Convention Organizing Committee formed by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and reinstated for provincial lawmakers who were dismissed for crossing the floor in Karnali Pradesh,” wrote Rawal, congratulating the lawmakers.

They had crossed the floor to vote for Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi on April 16. They had filed a writ petition after they were penalized on April 27.

A single bench of Justice Prakash Singh Raut issued an interim order to reinstate provincial lawmakers Prakash Jwala, Kurma Raj Shahi, Nanda Bahadur Budha and Amar Bahadur Thapa.

The 10th General Convention Organizing Committee had sacked them on the charge of crossing the floor to vote for Chief Minister Shahi in Karnali Pradesh.
