Communications Minister Nainkala Thapa assumes office at Singha Durbar



KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed Minister for Communications and Information Technology Nainkala Thapa assumed her office at Singha Durba Thursday.

After taking oath at President’s Office earlier, she has taken charge of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

Thapa, who has been chairperson of the Women’s Commission, had not been active in politics.

She was picked minister from two quotas set aside for former Maoist leaders. She is the wife of UML leader and former home minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal.
