NHRC urges govt to book harassers of two Raute girls



KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the government to book the perpetrators involved in sexual harassment against Raute girls in Surkhet district.

The NHRC has also drawn the attention of the government to maintain the privacy of victims in such cases.

Two girls in Gurbhakot Municipality-9 in Surkhet district were misbehaved and sexually harassed after making them drunk, it is reported.

Issuing a press release Sunday, NHRC Spokesperson Dr Tikaram Pokharel has urged the government to conduct health checkups and thoroughly investigate the issue to safeguard the lives of the victims.

It is reported that three local people have sexually harassed the girls.
