Prohibitory period extended by a week in Chitwan



KATHMANDU: Prohibitory period has been extended by a week in Chitwan district.

Chief District Officer Prem Lal Lamichanne Wednesday extended the prohibitory period till June 10 midnight.

Movement of vehicles of essential services, as well as vehicles carrying vegetables, fruits, dairy products, drinking water, electricity, foodstuffs, poultry feed, chemical fertilizer, and agriculture tools, would be allowed during the prohibitory period.

Similarly, the movement of vehicles related to telecom, internet, diplomatic mission, media persons, and vehicles used to distribute newspapers would not be restricted, reads a notice issued by the administration.

Factories could be operated if the arrangement of lodging and fooding to workers could be made on the premises of factory as well as arrangement of pick up and drop facility to workers from home is made. Likewise, the movement of vehicles of development construction and carrying construction materials would be allowed.

Meanwhile, the local administration has taken action against 388 businessmen in the district for defying the prohibitory order imposed by the administration. Information Officer at the District Administration Office, Khem Raj Poudel, said that they have been fined from Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000.
