Discussions were held among the second-tier leaders last night in the capital on the eve of the CPN-UML’s Standing Committee meeting which is being held on Tuesday.

Party leaders, including Subash Nemwang, Bishnu Poudel and Pradip Gyawali held talks on behalf of party Chairman Oli with Surendra Pandey, Ghanshyam Bhusal, Yogesh Bhattarai and Gokarna Bista of the disgruntled camp.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister and party Chairman Oli will brief the Standing Committee members about the talks with the Mahanta Thakur and Rajendra Mahato-led faction of the Janata Samajbadi Party.

It should be noted that Thakur and Mahato had on Monday held talks with Prime Minister Oli on the ministerial portfolios.
