Political analysts wonder why JSP Chair Thakur constantly supports Oli

KATHMANDU: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Chairman Mahantha Thakur has become the talk of the town in the current political spectrum of the country.

His unyielding support to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has left many political analysts puzzled wondering why he is supporting him constantly when all the other opposition parties have been rendering efforts to sideline Oli.

Analysts have said Prime Minister Oli, in a true sense of the term, is not so kind and liberal towards the Madhesh movement and the demands raised by the JSP.

The Thakur-Mahato faction has not given up support to Oli while the other Yadav-Bhattarai group is totally against him.

Even though Chairpersons Thakur and Upendra Yadav jointly issued  a press note airing the message of unity in the party, it did not last even for few days.

Thakur extended support to Oli as the Prime Minister while Yadav was in favor of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister.

Some analysts have said Thakur even lost the opportunity of becoming the Prime Minister due to his constant support to Oli.
