JSP holding PP meeting to dwell on power-sharing today

KATHMANDU: The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), a key player in the formation of a new government, has called a parliamentary party (PP) meeting.

To be held at Singha Durbar at 10 pm, the PP meeting will dwell on the formation of a new government.

According to a JSP leader, the PP meeting will dwell on extending support for KP Sharma Oli as the Prime Minister in line with Article 76 (5) of the Constitution.  However, it’s not certain whether Yadav-Bhattarai faction of the party will attend the meeting.

A few days ago, the JSP, in a press statement, had stated that it would take the helm of the government if the situation called for.

President Bidya Bhandari has given the 5 pm deadline today to the Members of Parliament (MPs) to stake claim of the majority government pursuant to Article 76 (5) of the Constitution.
