Urges party rank and file to maintain harmony, not heighten disputes

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the task force formed to patch up the intra-party dispute of the ruling CPN-UML has concluded at Singha Durbar.

The 10-member task force has decided to meet again on Wednesday to thrash out the differences, according to Gokarna Bista, a taskforce member.

The task force has urged the party cadres to maintain harmony, and not to heighten disputes.

The meeting also urged party rank and file for cooperation and harmony to move the party forward in a unified manner.

The taskforce which was given a three-day deadline could not hold a meeting on the first day.

Tuesday’s meeting was held to work out the criteria for implementation of the deal sealed between party chair KP Oli and senior leader Madhav Nepal, Bista added.

UML leaders Subas Nembang, Bishnu Paudel, Pradeep Gyawali, Shankar Pokharel, Bishnu Rimal from party chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Bhim Rawal, Surendra Pandey, Ghanashyam Bhusal, Raghuji Pant and Gokarna Bista representing senior UML leader Madhav Nepal are in the taskforce.

A one-on-one meeting held between Oli and Nepal at captain Rameshwor Thapa’s residence at Chapali Height recently had formed the taskforce to resolve the intra-party feud after Oli agreed to take the party back to the status of May 16, 2018.
