Writ filed at SC seeking dismissal of 7 ministers sans parliamentary memberships



KATHMANDU: A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court (SC) demanding to relieve seven ministers of their posts who are not the members in the federal parliament.

Senior Advocate Chandra Kanta Gyawali, advocates Lokendra Oli and Keshar Jung KC have jointly filed a writ petition seeking to relieve seven ministers of their posts. The hearing for the writ petition has been scheduled for Tuesday.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had reappointed seven ministers who are not the lawmakers in the federal parliament on May 14.  President Bhandari had administered an oath of office and secrecy to them on the same day.

The ministers mentioned in the petition include Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Lekh Raj Bhatta, Urban Development Minister Prabhu Sah, Minister for Water Supply Mani Thapa, Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Gauri Shankar Chaudhary and Minister for Youths and Sports Dawa Tamang.
