KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said the unification campaign of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) which was initiated three years ago today could not be brought into a logical conclusion due to secessionist, inconstant and opportunist attitudes of some leaders.
Making his views public on the occasion of 29th Madan-Ashrit Memorial Day today, Prime Minister Oli stated that UML has been taken forward in a new form on the basis of the same unification spirit.
Oli, in his speech, has expressed his commitments that he would be rendering his efforts on the unification campaign to lead the communist movement in line with the ideology postulated by leaders Madan Bhandari and Jibaraj Ashrit.
“We had unified CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) three years ago to form the NCP with the goal of achieving ‘Prosperous Nepal and Happy’ Nepali on the basis of a socialism-orientated political system. But, it could not be achieved due to some inconstant, secessionist and opportunist attitudes and activities of some leaders,” reads the speech issued by Prime Minister Oli.
The communist movement in Nepal has taken a new height due to the People’s multi-party democratic political ideology postulated by popular leader Madan Bhandari, said Oli, remembering late Bhandari’s contribution to the communist movement in Nepal.
