Ambulance drivers arrested for charging exorbitant fare



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two drivers of two ambulances from Birgunj in Parsa district on charges of charging higher fares.

According to the police, two persons have been arrested on the charge of charging exorbitant fees to the relatives of the infected and deceased persons in the critical situation of corona infection.

Among the arrested are Kamarudin Raiwar, 35, of Parsa, and Birbal Mukhiya, 22.

According to DSP Om Prakash Khanal of the District Police Office, Parsa, the initial investigation has revealed that they had collected more than the stipulated amount.
