KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has waived the limit on dollar exchange for import of medical supplies, including oxygen-related supplies, necessary in the treatment of coronavirus patients.

NRB Deputy Governor Bam Bahadur Mishra said the limit has been waived until this fiscal-end in order to help efforts to combat the ongoing pandemic. He said this decision would help address the health crisis in the country.

At present, the exchange facility for import of goods through draft / TT without a letter of credit is provided up to USD 35,000.
