KATHMANDU: Top leaders of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) are holding a meeting to decide the party’s stance on the formation of a new government at its party office in Balkumari.
Party senior leaders, including Mahanta Thakur, Upendra Yadav, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Rajendra Mahato and Ashok Rai are participating in the meeting, party sources said.
The party has accelerated meetings after Prime Minister KP Oli failed to get a vote of confidence from the House of Representatives on Monday.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has already asked the political parties to agree on forming a majority government by 9 pm Thursday.
The Nepali Congress, the CPN-Maoist Center and the Upendra-Baburam faction of the JSP have been actively involved in discussions to form a new government.
