Regmi recommended Chairman of Public Service Commission



KATHMANDU: The Constitutional Council has recommended the appointment of former secretary Madhav Prasad Regmi as the chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC).

Regmi is also the former secretary of the PSC.

A meeting of the Constitutional Council held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar attended by Prime Minister KP Oli, National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina and Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana decided to recommend former secretary Regmi as the commission’s Chairman, a source said.

Regmi, permanently from Jhapa, has been living in Kathmandu for a long time and is the brother of Supreme Court Judge Kumar Regmi.

Meanwhile, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba did not attend Sunday’s meeting.
