Five hospitals in Kathmandu run out of oxygen, say could not admit new COVID-19 patients



KATHMANDU: As many as five hospitals in Kathmandu have announced Saturday that they could not admit new COVID-19 patients, stating there is a lack of oxygen.

Medicare Hospital Limited, Nepal-India Friendship Hospital, Dirgau Guru Hospital, and Research Center Helping Hands Community Hospital, and Karuna Hospital have issued a statement stating that further treatment of COVID-19 is not possible due to lack of oxygen.

The hospitals have said that it is not possible to continue the treatment by admitting patients with coronavirus infection due to the inconvenience of regular supply of oxygen gas and alternative arrangement of oxygen.

The hospitals have informed that the service will be provided by operating only limited beds from today until there is a regular supply of oxygen.
