Provide medical supplies to people rather than engaging with forceful appointments: Nepal tells govt

KATHMANDU: Senior leader of ruling CPN-UML Madhav Nepal has urged the government to provide supplies to the people reeling under the pandemic rather than making appointments to the vacant posts in the constitutional bodies.

Posting a Facebook status on Saturday, leader Nepal said it is a height of irresponsibility on the part of Prime Minister KP Oli to keep himself busy making appointments in the constitutional bodies through ordinance at a time while the people are losing their lives due to lack of medical supplies.

“It is a height of irresponsibility on the part of Prime Minister Oli to make appointments to the vacant posts in the constitutional bodies through ordinance at a time when the people are reeling under COVID-19 pandemic due to lack of medical goods,” said Nepal in his Facebook message.

Nepal further said the government cannot escape from its responsibility towards the people during this pandemic-induced crisis.
