No agreement reached with PM Oli: UML Senior leader Nepal

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that no agreement has been reached between him and Prime Minister KP Oli.

Stating that he was ready to hold dialogue and maintain flexibility, he, however, said they have not forged any agreement yet.

Prime Minister and UML Chairman Oli has been holding talks with leaders of the Madhav Nepal faction in a bid to resolve the recent disputes within the UML.

Senior leader Nepal said hr was in favor of a strong and united party.

It should be noted that senior leader Nepal also met with President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Oli has held three-hour-long talks with UML leaders Ghanashyam Bhusal and Yogesh Bhattarai.

In the discussion held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar Thursday night with Bhusal and Bhattarai – both close to the disgruntled Madhav Nepal faction — Prime Minister Oli emphasized making the party intact.

Leaders Bhusal and Bhattarai, meanwhile, proposed PM Oli take the party back to May 16, 2018.

PM Oli, however, maintained silence on the issue.

Before meeting with PM Oli, Bhattarai and Bhusal held talks with Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel.

It should be noted that Paudel also had talks with UML leaders Surendra Pandey and Gokarna Bista – both close to the Madhav Nepal faction — on Thursday.

Finance Minister Paudel had proposed them form a task force to settle the party dispute.
