Ward chairman allegedly involved in forgery released on bail



KATHMANDU: The ward chairman accused of playing a role in providing fake citizenship to non-national has been released on bail.

According to Jhapa police, Ajay Karki, Ward Chairman of Birtamod Municipality-8 has been released on bail.

Ward Chairman Karki had signed and recommended the citizenship to non-nationals.

He had been absconding after a complaint was lodged against him in Jhapa police.

The police had arrested and produced him before the court on Tuesday.
