COVID-19: Full prohibitory orders in 36 and partial in 9 districts



KATHMANDU: With the increasing cases of new variants of COVID-19, the government has imposed partial and full prohibitory orders in as many as 45 districts of the country so far.

Of them, full prohibitory orders have been imposed in 36 districts and partial orders have been clamped in 9 districts.

The Kathmandu Valley has been under the prohibitory order since April 16 while full prohibitory orders have been imposed in 33 districts and partial orders in 9 districts.

According to the Home Ministry, full prohibitory orders have been imposed in Kathmandu, Lalitur, Bhaktapur, Surkhet, Kaski, Kailali, Parsa, Dang, Kanchanpur, Palpa, Chitwan, Bardiya and Rupandehi districts.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, District COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (DCCMC) has decided to impose prohibitory orders in Mahottari, Dolpa, Doti and Nawalparasi East.

With this, the number of districts where the prohibitory orders have been imposed has reached 45. The Prohibitory order will come into force in Mahottari from Wednesday evening (6 pm) until May 14 (midnight).

Similarly, the order will come into force in Dolpa, Doti and Nawalparasi East from Tuesday midnight.

The prohibitory became effective in Bajhang and Baitadi sine yesterday morning while it will come into force in Arjhakhanchi from yesterday midnight.

Similarly, full prohibitory orders have been imposed in Salyan, Sunsari, Jajarkot, Rukum West, Dadeldhura, Jhapa, Gulmi, Pyuthan, Udayapur, Bajhang, Kapilvastu, Nuwakot, Dhanusha, Arghakhanchi, Baitadi and Surkhet. An odd-even rule has been imposed in Kaski, despite prohibitory order.

The order came into force in Kapilvastu, Nuwakot, Dhanusha from todady morning and in Dailekh from today midnight, according to Home Ministry.

Likewise, the prohibitory has been imposed in some selected areas in Baglung, Darchula, Morang, Kavre, Gorkha, Bajura, Makwanpur, Kalilkot, Syangja, Ramechhap and Taplejung.

The government has directed chief district officers of the respective districts to impose prohibitory orders in the Kathmandu Valley and Tarai districts with 500 COVID-19 cases and in hilly and mountainous districts with 200 cases.
