NEW DELHI: India on Sunday reported its highest single-day toll of 3,689 coronavirus-related deaths, Indian media reports said.

The country saw a slight dip in the daily numbers with 3,92,488 new cases.

The new cases take the Covid tally to 1,95,57,457 with 33,49,644 active cases and the total death toll stands at 2,15,542.

As India hit the global record, help poured from across the world to help the country fight against the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, India Today reported.

A flight from Uzbekistan, carrying oxygen concentrators, and other medical supplies arrived at Delhi airport early Sunday, while another flight from the US arrived carrying over 1,000 oxygen cylinders, regulators, and other medical equipment, the report said.

Likewise, 28 tons of medical equipment, including eight hospital-level oxygen generators and other medical supplies, arrived from France, said Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi.
