NC asks govt to act as guardian of all during crisis

Lambasts govt for slackness over pandemic control measures

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) has lashed out at the Oli-led government for its failure to adopt measures to effectively control coronavirus pandemic and urged it to be the guardian of the citizens during the crisis.

Issuing a statement on Saturday, party spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma has urged the government to be accountable towards the people.

NC spokesperson has criticized the government for its failure to take timely action to prevent and control the pandemic.

“It is regrettable that the government which spent all its time in hatching conspiracy, causing conflict, creating chaos by announcing untimely election during the pandemic period, spending all its time in eulogizing itself for some catchy slogans has, of late, disgracefully announced that there is a shortage of ventilators, ICU beds and oxygen in the hospital,” reads the statement.

NC has also appealed to the government to stop making a molehill and act more sincerely to curb the pandemic.
