Banke records 11 COVID-19 deaths in a single day



NEPALGUNJ:  As many as 11 people have died in the course of treatment at various hospitals in Banke district in the last 24 hours on Thursday.

The deceased are eight persons from Banke, two persons from Kailali and one from Bardiya, according to Tej Wali, a focal person of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center of the district.

According to Wali,  a 60-year-old man of Nepalgunj Sub Metropolitan City-4, 42-year-old man of ward 9, 55-year-old man of ward 5, 33-year-old man of ward-8, 68-year-old man of ward 17, 43-year-old woman of Kohalpur municipality -11, 50-year-old man of ward no 13 and 67-year-old woman of Khajura rural municipality-2 have died from COVID-19.

Similarly, a 32-year-old man of Badhaiyatal rural municipality-8, Bardiya, a 43-year-old man of Lamkichuha municipality-1, Kailali and 51-year-old woman of Tikapur municipality are the other persons to have died from the pandemic, said Wali.

With this, the number of deaths from the virus in Banke has reached 110.

Meanwhile, the local administration has tightened restrictions on the movement of people on the border checkpoints to curb the cases of coronavirus in the district.
