NEPSE increases by 25.82 points



KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange Ltd (NEPSE) has increased by 25.82 points on Thursday, the last trading day of the week.

With today’s increment, the index has reached 2611.11 points.

The new variant of Covid-19 has affected the entire region and the share market has been positive despite the prohibitory order imposed in various districts of the country including Kathmandu Valley.

The transaction amount has been declining as investors have become inactive in the market along with the prohibitory order.

The hotel and tourism sub-index decreased by 0.53 percent in Nepse, but all other sub-indices are marked green. The hydropower sub-index increased the most at 2.9 percent, the other sub-index at 2.8 percent, and the trade sub-index at 2.66 percent.

The manufacturing sub-index increased by 1.87 percent and the market-leading banking sub-index by 0.45 percent.
The highest turnover of the NCC bank was 309.69 million while Shivam Cement had a turnover of 187.22 million.

Shares of Mahila Microfinance, Singati Hydro, and Bishalbazar Company saw a positive circuit in Nepse today, while shares of Sanjen Hydropower Company increased by 8.56 percent.

The share price of Shree Investment and Finance decreased by 2.82 percent while the share price of Nepal Hydro Developers Company fell by 2.3 percent.

Share prices of 139 companies traded on Nepse today rose while those of 32 companies declined while 12 remained unchanged.

According to the Nepse Index, A total of 98.18 million shares of 217 companies were traded 50,066 times resulting in a turnover of Rs 4.35 billion today.
