Qatar issues new guidelines for travelers from six countries including Nepal

DOHA: All passengers arriving in Qatar on flights originating from or transiting via Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka will be required to stay at one of a specified group of hotels, according to information available on the Discover Qatar website.

The website also said that “new quarantine packages are being finalised. Check back soon to make a booking.”

The updated information on hotel quarantine bookings for arrivals from the six ‘high-risk’ countries comes following Monday’s announcement by the Ministry of Public Health that hotel quarantine is mandatory for people coming to Qatar from those places.

With effect from April 26, “all passengers arriving on flights originating from or transiting via Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka, will be required to stay at one of a specified group of hotels, for which you can use the search calendar on this page (https://www.qatarairwaysholidays.com/qa-en/welcome-home-high-risk-arrivals/) to check availability”, the website says.

“Quarantine will be for a mandated period of 10 days. PCR test taken within 48 hours of the flight departure must be presented at check-in to be able to board your flight.

“There are no exemptions from quarantine for those who have been vaccinated or have previously tested positive.”

All new bookings will be required to book a Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka Quarantine hotel for the mandatory quarantine stay in Qatar.

All new bookings will be required to present a Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka Quarantine hotel voucher to be permitted to board a flight departing from or transiting via the six countries.

Any bookings made on or after April 27, 19:00 Doha local time, which are not in a Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka Quarantine hotel for a flight originating in or transiting via the six countries, will be cancelled at 100% cancellation fee.

“If you are not on a flight from or transiting via the six countries, you should not book a Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka Quarantine hotel for your mandatory quarantine stay in Qatar; you will not be permitted to check-in and you will not be entitled to a refund,” the website explains.
