KATHMANDU: With the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the country, the Supreme Court (SC) of Nepal has decided to curtail its service delivery.
A full meeting of the SC held on Tuesday decided to halt general cases and hear only urgent writ petitions until May 14.
The SC will only register and hear cases of Habeas corpus and those urgent cases related to COVID-19 pandemic and health related writ petitions, said Devendra Dhakal, the joint spokesperson for the SC.
In case of high courts, district courts and other courts, services will be executed depending upon the COVID-19 situation in the respected places, according to the decision.
This decision will remain effective from today until May 14.
