NA to build eight holding centers across the nation

KATHMANDU: The government is planning to set up holding centers at different places to control coronavirus infection.

The cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to build holding centers at eight places at different borders across the nation.

The capacity of each holding center will be at least one thousand.

Nepalis from abroad will be kept in the holding centers and sent home only after testing the coronavirus.

“Eight holding centers will be constructed from west Kanchanpur to east Birtamod,” said Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Ganesh Singh Thagunna.

The construction of the holding centers will be done by the Nepal Army, he said.
