Kin of accident victim vandalize health facility in Janakpur



KATHMANDU: A group of people have vandalized Janaki Health Care and Teaching Hospital blaming the hospital of negligence in the death of an accident injured person in Janakpurdham Sunday.

Sunil Sharma, 28, of Mithila Municipality, Dhanusha, was rushed to the hospital after he met with a bike accident in Kusumbisauna.

Upon his arrival in the hospital, doctors there, stating that the injured Sharma’s situation was critical, advised relatives to ferry him to a well-equipped hospital.

Sharma’s relatives were making arrangements for lifting the injured to Kathmandu on a chopper while Sharma died.

After Sharma’s death, the relatives grew angry with the hospital for not providing essential treatment and began holding the facility accountable to Sharma’s death. Shortly, they began vandalizing ICU ward and other areas of the hospital.

After the incident, police have been mobilized outside the facility, which has been padlocked.
