CA member Siddhiqi dies of COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Constituent Assembly (CA) Member Mohammad Siddhiqi died of COVID-19 on Saturday, Medical Superintendent of Bheri Hospital Dr Prakash Thapa confirmed. She was 62.

Siddihiqi was admitted to the hospital’s isolation ward some two weeks ago after she tested positive for coronavirus.

Elected from Nepali Congress in the CA, Siddhiqi was active in democratic movement, social services and human rights since long.

She was also the founder chairperson of Fatima Foundation Nepal established in Nepalgunj. So far, 78 people died of COVID-19 related illness in Banke district.
