Leader Singh calls for effective Covid-19 response mechanism



KATHMANDU: Former general-secretary of Nepali Congress (NC) Prakashman Singh spoke of the need for the incumbent government to take effective measures against Covid-19 pandemic to prevent a health crisis in the country.

At a program held in Kathmandu Thursday, leader Singh blamed the incumbent government for being indifferent towards controlling Covid-19 and said the government was more focused on holding the reign of the leadership rather than protecting the lives of people.

Singh, also former Deputy Prime Minister, urged the government to make sure that no Nepalis -at home and abroad – suffer due to the pandemic, which is gripping the country alarmingly in its second wave.

Pressing for the need to enhance capacity of healthcare centers across the country, he wished, “May the government take effective measures against Covid-19 which has already entered the country as a second wave.”

He also underscored the need to operate oxygen plant in big hospitals in major cities. During the program, Ishan Memorial Society had donated Rs 111,000 to the children with autism. RSS
