KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and UML senior leader Madhav Nepal are holding a one-on-one meeting to thrash out the intra-party differences even today.
The two heavyweights had held a meeting at Marriott Hotel on Wednesday evening. They are holding a one-on-one talk at the same hotel at 2 pm today, too, said a UML leader.
“Prime Minister Oli and Nepal are holding a one-on-one talk today. The meeting will take place at the same venue, Marriott Hotel,” said the leader
During the meeting, the two leaders reportedly held serious deliberations on ways to manage the internal strife in the party.
A two-hour-long talk held between the two heavyweights yesterday had ended inconclusively, with two heavyweights sticking to their guns.
In the meeting with Prime Minister Oli yesterday, Nepal had reportedly floated his views arguing that the CPN-UML should be returned to the same status of May 16, 2018, but Oli rejected it flatly.
The two leaders exited the hotel at around 7 pm on Wednesday evening. Senior leader Nepal, however, refused to divulge the content of the discussion to the media.
The two leaders exited the hotel in a gay mood and PM’s special financial advisor Moti Dugad told media that he perceived the meeting was overall positive.
This was the first time that they sat for a dialogue after the dissolution of the House of Representatives last December.
