COVID-19: Two die few hours after testing positive

Coronavirus death toll reaches 63 in Banke



NEPALGUNJ: Two coronavirus infected people have died a few hours after testing coronavirus positive in Banke taking the COVID-19 related death toll 63 in the district.

According to hospital sources, a 77-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman of Kohalpur-2 died at the Medical College, Kohalpur on Monday.

The 77-year-old man had given his swab for test on Monday and was called to hospital after he tested positive. However, the man died before he was admitted in the hospital.

“After he was diagnosed COVID-19 positive, we rushed him to the Nepal Medical College for treatment,” a relative of the deceased told Khabarhub, adding, “He died at the hospital gate at around 9 PM, before he could get admitted in the hospital.” The deceased elderly man also had tuberculosis and asthma.

Similarly, a 35-year-old woman who got her swab tested on Monday died at 3 PM before she received her report.

When the report came in the evening, it came positive.

Coronavirus related death toll has risen to 63 in Banke.

Meanwhile, Banke district witnessed 322 fresh cases of coronavirus on Monday; this is the single highest ever in Banke.

According to health officials in Banke, out of 375 swabs tested in Bheri Hospital 219 were confirmed coronavirus positive on Monday evening.

Likewise, 66 tested COVID-19 positive in Medical College, and 37 in Bageshwori laboratory.
