Ruling UML sending letters to 32 lawmakers for clarification (with list)



KATHMANDU: Ruling CPN-UML is making preparations to take actions against as many as 32 lawmakers on the charge of carrying out activities against the party interest.

As many as 27 federal lawmakers and five provincial lawmakers will face actions, according to a UML source.

Dispatching letters to the UML lawmakers, the UML has given a two-day deadline to senior Madhav Nepal, Bhim Rawal, Ghanashyam Bhusal, Surendra Pandey for their clarifications while the other lawmakers have been given a three-day deadline for their clarifications.

“The list of the lawmakers for seeking their clarifications was prepared on Monday night,” said a source, adding, “If their response were not satisfactory, a Central Committee (CC) meeting to be held on April 23 UML would dismiss them from both the general party memberships and the posts of lawmakers.”

Similarly, the party is taking the same sort of action against five provincial lawmakers for violating the party’s directive in Karnali Pradesh.
