DANG: The Corona special hospital in Beljhundi of Dang has run of beds. The hospital with 25-bed capacity is now providing treatment to 26 patients infected with Coronavirus.

Five of the patients are undergoing treatment in Intensive Care Unit while 21 others are admitted in the general ward, hospital manager Drona Oli said.

Those admitted are from Ghorahi, Tulasipur, Shantinagar and from Rolpa. The hospital is set up at the Ayurved teaching hospital under Nepal Sanskrit University.

Only the ground floor of the three-storey building has been used for the Corona special hospital.

It could be upgraded to a 55-bed hospital if all the floors are used, said Oli. Oli however complained of not receiving regular funds from the government.

“It’s been 9 months that we have not received any funds from the provincial government,” Oli said, “we are currently operating by taking loan.”
