Bagmati PA meeting obstructed

HETAUDA: The seventh session of Bagmati Province Assembly (PA) was obstructed Tuesday.

At the meeting, CPN (Maoist Centre) parliamentary party leader Shalikram Jammakattel complained that no opportunity was given to discuss the no-confidence motion registered against Chief Minister Dormani Poudel.

He also blamed the government of neglecting the opposition party and distributing budget and projects in the districts unilaterally. He said that the no-confidence motion would not be withdrawn and the party would accept the result over the vote.

Soon after leader Jammakattel ended his speech, CPN (MC) PA members stood from their respective seats and obstructed the meeting of the Provincial Assembly.

In response, Speaker Sanu Kumar Shrestha announced that the meeting had been postponed until 11:00 am Wednesday.
