Maoist Center withdraws no confidence motion against CM Rai

KATHMANDU: Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) has withdrawn no-confidence motion filed against Chief Minister of Province 1, Sher Dhan Rai.

Taking part on the Province Assembly meeting on Monday, Maoist Center parliamentary leader of Province Indra Bahadur Angbo announced the withdrawal of the ‘no-confidence motion’ against CM Rai.

Leader Angbo claimed that the party has decided to withdraw the proposal as it has lost its relevance.

After CPN-UML’s disgruntled faction withdrew its decision of voting against Chief Minister Rai, the Maoist Center’s proposal could not draw one fourth vote for the proposal.

“The no-confidence proposal has lost its relevance when a group formerly positive towards it decided to withdraw, so we also decided to withdraw the proposal,” leader Angbo said.

The proposal will be withdrawn in today’s meeting of the Province Assembly.
