Maoist Center takes action against Minister Angbuhang



BIRATNAGAR: Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) has taken action against Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning of Province 1 Tanka Angbuhang, who recently defected to CPN-UML from CPN (Maoist Center).

Ten days after becoming a minister, Angbuhang was removed from the post by the Maoist Center. The party has taken action against him for not giving an explanation within the stipulated time.

As per the recommendation of the Province 1 parliamentary party, chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has sacked him without even being an ordinary member of the party.

He became the Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning on March 26. According to Indra Bahadur Angbo, leader of the CPN-Maoist Central Pradesh 1 parliamentary party, the party took action against him after he left the post and became a minister.

Tanka Angbuhang was asked for a 24-hour explanation by the CPN-Maoist Central Province 1 parliamentary party on March 30. But he did not provide an explanation.

As per the rule, he will now have a term of only six months. There is a provision that a non-lawmaker can become a minister for only six months.

Angbuhang, the then deputy leader of the CPN (Maoist) parliamentary party, is a lawmaker elected from Taplejung’B’.
