Nepal-Khanal faction forms parallel committee in Dhankuta



KATHMANDU: The Nepal-Khanal faction of ruling CPN-UML has formed a parallel district committee of the party in Dhankuta.

UML’s separate district committee of the party was formed under the chairmanship of Arjun Rai in which Khagendra Subedi is the secretary of the committee.

According to the disgruntled faction, a 101-member district committee was formed at an extended meeting of the district committee convened in the district on Sunday.

As many as 48 district committee members of the party were present in the meeting, according to the faction.

Speaking in the committee meeting following his election, Rai accused UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli of breaching the party statue of by taking away the responsibilities of some central members of the party.

With the formation of a parallel committee by Nepal-Khanl faction, UML’s Dhankuta district committee led by Rajendra Rai has now split into two factions.
