CK Raut to remain Janamat Party Chairman



JANAKPURDHAM: Dr. CK Raut is certain to get unanimously elected as the Central Chairman of Janamat Party in the forthcoming general convention.

According to Sanjay Kumar Singh, coordinator of the party’s election committee, Raut has been confirmed to be the unopposed chairman as there was no other candidate vying for the post in the party’s first general convention.

Similarly, although the party constitution has the provision of maximum of seven vice-presidents, only four people have nominated for the post of Vice President (VP).

The four vying for VP are Mohammad Abdul Khan, E. Basant Kumar Kushwaha, E. Deepak Kumar Sah and E. Narendra Prasad Chaudhary.

According to Coordinator Singh, only Chandan Kumar Mishra has nominated his name for the post of General Secretary while no one has been nominated for the post of Joint Secretary so far. Although a maximum of seven people can be appointed to the post of secretary, only Surendra Narayan Yadav has vied for the post.

There are 46 candidates competing for 23 open seats in the central committee. Similarly, in the Non-Resident Madhesi Association, 5 candidates have filed nominations for 4 seats and only 13 candidates have filed nominations for 15 women seats.

Leaders and cadres have intensified preparations for the party’s first national general convention. The party’s general convention is being held at Bahrabigha Maidan in Janakpurdham on April 10.

According to sources, a huge pavilion is being constructed on the ground for the general convention. Chairman Raut claimed that 5,000 delegates and 25,000 volunteers will participate in the convention.
