‘NC to file no-confidence motion if PM doesn’t resign’

KATHMANDU: Senior Nepali Congress (NC) leader Ram Chandra Poudel has warned the NC would register a motion of no-confidence against the government in the parliament if Prime Minister KP Oli does not resign.

Addressing a program organized by his party Saturday, leader Poudel said the no-confidence motion would be brought in coordination with major parliamentary forces, referring to CPN (Maoist Center) and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) that opposed the PM’s move of dissolving the House of Representatives (HoR).

Stating that his party’s CWC meeting had decided to seek PM Oli’s resignation, Poudel said, “If PM Oli stays in power then the threat to democracy will remain.”

He also said that the NC would lead the government and would try to address the demands of JSP.
