Govt agrees to withdraw cases sub judice in court: JSP leader Karna



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expedited meetings with the leaders of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) to keep the incumbent government intact.

A meeting of the joint taskforce of the government and the JSP convened on Wednesday discussed power-sharing including the demands raised by JSP, according to Laxman Lal Karna, a member of the joint task-force.

“An agreement has been reached to withdraw cases which are sub-judice in the court,” said Karna, adding, “The discussions on other demands are ongoing. The government is positive about our demands.”

JSP leader Keshav Jha also informed that the meeting with the Oli-led government ended on a positive note. “We will support the party that will fulfill our demands,” Said Jha.

Prime Minister Oli has already held several rounds of talks with top-notch leaders of JSP to save his government with its support.

The task force includes UML Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Poudel, Parliamentary Party Deputy Leader Subas Nembang and Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr Rajan Bhattarai.

Likewise, Sarbendra Nath Shukla and Karna represent the JSP in the task force.

JSP has been demanding the release of Resham Chaudhary, withdrawal of cases filed against its leaders and cadres during the Madhes movement and amendment to the Constitution.
