NC leader Nabindra Raj Joshi passes away



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Nabindra Raj Joshi has passed away on Friday evening. He was 57.

Announcing Joshi’s demise, NC leader Prakash Man Singh bid farewell to the former Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies on a Facebook post on Friday evening.

Joshi had been undergoing treatment at Norvic Hospital, Thapathali, after he suffered a brain hemorrhage on February 25. The hospital has also confirmed Joshi’s death on Friday.

NC leaders reached Norvic Hospital after hearing the news of Joshi’s demise.

Meanwhile, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, among other leaders, expressed sadness over the irreparable loss.

Joshi, who contested federal parliamentary elections from Kathmandu-8 in 2017, had lost to Jeevan Ram Shrestha from the leftist alliance.

Born on January 8, 1964, Joshi had started his political career by participating in the democracy movement held in 1979 representing the Nepal Student’s Union.
