Madhav Nepal faction to withdraw no-confidence motion filed against CM Rai

BIRATNAGAR: The Madhav Kumar Nepal faction of the CPN-UML has agreed to withdraw the no-confidence motion filed against the Chief Minister of State 1, Sherdhan Rai.

CPN-UML’s Nepal faction leader Rajendra Rai said they have decided to withdraw the no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Rai.

A meeting of the State-1 Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting of the party had on Wednesday given a deadline of one week to withdraw the no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister.

A meeting of the PP held for the first time after the Supreme Court revived the CPN-UML and the UCPN (Maoist Center) had given such the instruction.

Likewise, the PP meeting also formed a parliamentary board.

Earlier, lawmakers close to the Madhav Kumar Nepal faction had hinted at the possibility of withdrawing the no-confidence motion.

Chief Minister Rai convened the meeting to discuss the no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Rai and the current political developments.

The ruling CPN-UML has 50 MPs in the State 1 state assembly out of which 16 are close to the Madhav Kumar Nepal faction.
