Home Ministry to take action against those who do not wear masks

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has urged one and all to adopt health safety measures including the use of masks and sanitizers to control increasing cases of COVID-19 in the country.

The Home Ministry has issued a circular to the police directing the latter to take actions against those who do comply with safety measures against COVID-19 in line with the Infectious Disease Act, 1964.

Chief of Nepal National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC), Dil Kumar Tamang informed that the Home Ministry is currently taking stock of the impact of COVID-19 and will chalk out a strategy as per the recommendation of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC).

Nepal recorded a total of 188 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, taking the tally to 2,76,244 in the country as of Tuesday afternoon.

Likewise, the Ministry shared that the country has currently 1,128 active cases of the coronavirus.
