NC meeting fails to make decision on govt formation

Says the situation for govt formation not mature yet

KATHMANDU:  The meeting of the office bearers and ex-office bearers of the main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) has concluded without making a substantive decision on government formation.

According to Ramesh Lekhak, a central committee member of the party, today’s meeting held at NC Central Office, Sanepa, did not make any substantive decision on government formation.

He added that there was no serious discussion on the issue of government formation.

“Some participants raised voice on finding an alternative to Prime Minister KP Oli,” Lekhak said. “But there was no concrete decision made on the issue.”

He added that the party is ready to lead the government but the situation has not been ripened for it yet.

He denied responding when the situation would be ‘ripened’ and said, “NC would not make any immature decision.”
