Tourism Minister Dhakal makes unannounced visit to TIA



KATHMANDU: Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal made an unannounced visit to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the country’s only international airport, Sunday.

Minister Dhakal was accompanied by MoCTCA Secretary Yadav Prasad Koirala, Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Rajan Pokharel, TIA General Manager Pratap Babu Tiwari, among other officials, in the inspection visit.

The minister instructed TIA officials to maintain sanitation and hygiene standards at the airport after finding the situation unsatisfactory.

Stating that he would visit again, Minister Dhakal gave a week’s ultimatum to TIA officials to solve sanitation problems at the airport.
