KATHMANDU: Leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC), including senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, General Secretary Shashank Koirala, Treasurer Sita Devi Yadav, central committee members Ram Sharan Mahat and Minendra Rijal, among others, held a discussion at Poudel’s residence in Bohorataar, Kathmandu, Sunday afternoon.
One of the leaders attending the meeting said they talked about preparation for the party’s 14th General Convention slated for August 23 this year and the current political scenario.
The Poudel-faction leaders sat for discussion this afternoon as part of their homework to attend the NC office bearers’ meeting on Monday.
NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba has called a meeting of NC office bearers at the party office in Sanepa on Monday, according to party office Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel.
One of the leaders attending the meeting at Poudel’s residence said that they will draw the attention of NC President Deuba to issues such as lack of adequate preparation for holding the general convention on August 23 later this year and his reluctance to strategize for toppling the government led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Prior to the leaders meet at Poudel’s residence in Bohorataar today, NC leader Arjun Narsingh KC had said they would particularly dwell on the party’s strategy on national politics and NC’s role to protect the constitution and the House of Representatives (HoR), following HoR reinstatement.
